BlueBee
I’m a young trans pup who got into the scene about a year ago. As my pup’s name suggests, I’m a blue pupper who loves bees. Both the real ones and the plush variants. Though the latter are a bit more huggable 😉 On a few occasions, I also wear a camouflage hood and outfit, but blue is my big preference.
I discovered puppy play and the pet play community through the sex education YouTube channel WattsTheSafeword. I watched a few episodes and came across some of their puppy play videos. I became intrigued and decided to buy my first muzzle, because it was cheaper than a full hood. I didn’t entirely like the muzzle, so I ordered a full hood. I quickly enjoyed the full hood and the look of it. It also gives me a bit more privacy, regarding my hooman identity.
I set up a PupSpace account, social media specifically for human pups, and slowly got in contact with other pups and people. Eventually, I found my way into a Telegram group for new puppies in Belgium and that’s how the ball got rolling and I chased it 😊
The Belgian Pride 2022 was my first time out as a human pup and I enjoyed it greatly! Although I was shy, other pups made me feel welcome. European Handler 2022 Quincy encouraged me to write my name on a flag they carried with them and to help carry said flag during the parade. Even though I was such a green (blue) pup, I didn’t notice any gatekeeper behavior from others. I happily went up in the crowd of barking and howling pups.
From there on, I’ve attended a few other Pride events and watched the Puppy Belgium 2023 elections. I’ve made quite some friends from all regions of Belgium and beyond! I also came to realize I’m luckily not the only trans pet player in Belgium. So far, I’ve been lucky to have met many open-minded and accepting people in the puppy play community. They don’t care about a gender marker on my ID-card, they don’t care about my appearance. As long as we can enjoy pet play together, it’s all chill. It helps me ‘forget’ my transness. It’s not a big deal or a deal breaker, you know?
It’s one of the things that makes me enjoy being a puppy. Everyone is so friendly and supportive of each other. And I love, love, love all the hugs that happen whenever I meet up with other pups.
Other things that I enjoy besides the community itself, is the actual play part which is still connected to the community. I really enjoy pupping out with others. Alone, isn’t fun for me. Every now and then, I attend a Dutch pup event, Bark&Play, where you can play with other puppies. There are balls and squeaky toys to play with. As an introvert, it’s great to be able to communicate and play with others without having to exchange words. You can just be a playful doggy for a while and release some energy. It’s nice not having to hooman for a bit. Just push a big tennis ball with other pups, squeak a bunch of toys and crawl around.
Finally, I like the look and the feel of the gear I wear. Though it can quickly get hot in a hood, I kind of enjoy the light pressure and enclosed feel of my face. It helps me get into that puppy headspace. I also love the sensation of the collar around my neck. They all attribute to the headspace. Besides the collar and hood, I wear a chest harness. Not only do I like its weight and look, but it’s also gender affirming too. Of course, everyone can wear a harness, but for me personally, it’s tied to my masculinity. The harness solidifies my gender identity. And finally, I think the whole outfit (hood, collar, harness, gloves) looks really cool and appealing.
Cody Amare
Three years ago, I’ve got to know what pup-play was. I was introduced to a fetish bar by a friend of me and there I’ve seen someone who was into pup-play. I was very curious how he acted and played that role so I started communicating with him and his handler. For me it was a little bit strange, but they told me that they get outside their comfort zone once they put the hood on. After I’ve met them and other fetish people, I was looking around the internet to learn more about the pup community and ordered my 1st hood.
Two years ago I’ve met my pack that helped me out to be the pup who I am today. I started to think how to be a pup but bring a piece of myself in Cody, I always liked fairytales and thought to make one myself, so I brought Cody into a fairytale character. So yes, I’ve brought pup play and cosplay together in one character.
For me it’s more than role play and I’m still learning today. For me it’s an escape from reality and follow my pathways. Since I’ve joined the pup community many doors have opened and learned that the community is also social, playful, and very kind to each other.
Many people think that pup-play is all about fun. Well, those rumors are wrong, we do wear a hood and pretend to be pups but ask a lot of pups in the community they will all share the same comment: “When the hood is on, we’re anonymous and that makes it easier to break free. Most people are shy to show themselves and that's why the pup community is a safe space for a lot of people. As community we’re also very helpful to each other and love to share our experience with new pups to help them evolving.”
My advice is to be yourself, make your own character to life and don’t be shy for who you are.
“Try to find your own way to open new worlds, deep within you’re able to find the key of your story.”
Pup Mike
Once upon a time, in a city that didn't celebrate diversity and acceptance, I, Mike, lived my life as an openly gay man, embracing my identity with pride and confidence even though sometimes it wasn't easy. Little did I know that my journey would take an unexpected turn into a world of thrilling exploration.
It all began when my boyfriend surprised me with a mysterious gift while on our holiday in Copenhagen: a puppy hood, a leash and a collar. Curiosity surged through me as I held these items in my hands, unsure of what awaited me. With a glimmer of excitement in his eyes, my boyfriend whispered, "Put them on, and remember, you're not allowed to speak while wearing the hood." My heart raced as I eagerly donned the puppy hood, ready to embark on this thrilling adventure.
Together, we stepped into a cafe known for its inclusivity and acceptance. As we entered, I felt a palpable energy in the air. All eyes turned toward us, intrigued by the transformation taking place before them. With the leash gently tugged by my boyfriend, I strutted proudly, feeling an immediate sense of liberation, and belonging.
The people around the cafe were captivated by the sight, by a gay pup in all his glory. Their smiles and kind gestures filled me with a profound joy, reaffirming my place in this diverse and vibrant community. The touch of their hands as they petted me, the warmth of their words—it was an intoxicating experience, awakening desires I never knew existed.
At first, I wholeheartedly embraced my submissive nature, finding solace and pleasure in the care and love bestowed upon me by my boyfriend. But as time passed, I discovered that my journey as a gay pup held far greater depth than I had ever imagined.
Within the vibrant walls of the Fetish community, I met others who shared my passion for role-playing and self-expression. Together, we formed a close-knit pack, The Night Fury Pack, where the traditional notions of dominance and submission gave way to something much more profound—genuine friendship and unwavering support. I found myself growing into a protective alpha, a steadfast brother for my packmates.
Yet, my journey also exposed me to the darker side of the Fetish world. I witnessed the harm caused when individuals forgot the importance of consent and respect. These experiences fueled my determination to advocate for healthy dynamics and safe practices within the community.
As a protective pup, I became a voice for fostering healthy relationships and encouraging open dialogue. I realized that true liberation in the realm of role-playing could only be achieved when consent, respect, and empathy formed the foundation of every interaction. With compassion and understanding, I started to guide others, reminding them that our desires and fantasies should never come at the expense of someone's well-being.
With a wag of my tail and a proud bark, I am ready to embark on new adventures, spreading the message that love, acceptance, and understanding can be found in the most unexpected places.
